Another thing to take into account is which carrier to select, which will inevitably shrink your phone choices as some phones are only available for use with specific carriers. One of the main things to ask yourself is what you actually want from your phone. That is, what is more important to you as it relates to features. Some people wanted unlimited data plans, others want speed, some people would simply like the phone with the best camera and video capabilities. First, ask yourself what it is you are looking for. What is more important to you when it comes to your phone? There are larger carriers like AT&T and Verizon that offer a great deal under a contract. You can get an Iphone or you can go with an Android phone. Both have impressive features that you will love. At a cost, of course. If you feel none of the fancy features are what is important to you there are smaller carriers like MetroPCS, with whom a contract is not necessary. You pay month to month and are not locked into an agreement. Coverage is an important thing to consider, as well. Certain carriers may not have the best coverage in certain areas. Although, for the most part, dropped calls are becoming more and more infrequent with most carriers. Things like maps and voice coverage are very important factors. AT&T and T-Mobile are the best ones to go with if you travel a lot internationally as they use the global GSM system.

How much are you willing to spend?

This is an important question when seeking out the right cell phone provider. There are people out there willing to shell out $200 a month and more to have the phones they want with the features they love. From internet to unlimited talk and text, it all comes with a price. If you are looking to pay the minimum and would just like a phone that makes calls and offers simple features, MetroPCS may be a good fit. The major providers are AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile (for now), and Verizon. These are known as the Big Four when it comes to providers. AT&T and Verizon have actually raised their plan prices be requiring a data plan for most of their phones.
