How You Can Organize Your Child’s Toys While Making Lemonade
Posted on July 19, 2012
Most children go crazy and become ecstatic over the sight of two things. These things are toys and freshly squeezed homemade lemonade. Herein lies the dilemma. As children collect toys, they do not do a good job putting them away and maintaining their rooms’ cleanliness.
One of the most common complaints from parents on the move is that there are toys all over the place in their child’s room. Children, on the other hand, feel that they do not have enough toys. However, if the toys were organized long before moving day, parents would not complain as much and children would be able to find those long lost toys that they forgot about a while ago. This American Van Lines blog will show you how to get this done while making a fresh batch of homemade lemonade to enjoy with your movers after the organization is complete.
Organize the Toys, Make Awesome Lemonade
- Place the most frequently used toys nearby. When you organize your child’s toys, put their favorites in an area where they have easy access to them. Having them easily accessible also allows your child to place the toys back in their proper place.
- Go into the kitchen and gather all the items you will be needing to make your lemonade. These items may include lemons, sugar, water, a strainer, a saucepan, a measuring cup, ice and a pitcher.
- Go back in your child’s room and move the least frequently played with toys to a higher level. The art of organizing toys is slowly removing the toys that are not frequently played with to a level where the child eventually forgets about them.
- Head into the kitchen and start making syrup by pouring the sugar and 1 cup of water into a saucepan. Bring it to a boil over medium heat, then reduce the heat and stir until the sugar has dissolved. Now you have simple syrup. Cool it to room temperature and refrigerate.
- Journey back into the room. Now, put the small toys in containers. These toys are the hazardous ones that can get stepped on or swallowed. Place them in plastic, stacked containers. Be creative and use Tupperware or toy organizers that are available in toy stores.
- Head to the kitchen to prepare your lemons. Roll them on their sides to get them ready and get the juices flowing. Cut them in half.
- Now place a strainer over a liquid measuring cup. Juice those plump lemons over the strainer, allowing the liquid to flow into the measuring cup. Now, continue juicing until you have 1 cup of fresh lemon juice. You may need 5 to 8 lemons.
- Go back into your child’s room while your juice in the making refrigerates and hide the toys that your child has not played with in years. Just put them in a large garbage bag and put it in a storage area, such as the attic, basement or garage until you move.
- Head back to the refrigerator and pull out what you have. Mix the fresh lemon juice, the syrup and water together thoroughly. After it has been mixed, share it out and go enjoy it with your child in their room and admire their newly organized toys!
