Carry boxes behind you to alleviate the stress on your back; this way, all the weight is on your legs. When you carry the box in front of you, stress is added to your back, arms and shoulders.
Here are 3 easy steps for two people to pick up a dresser:
- Tip the dress on its side.
- Grab the bottom
- Lift & set it on your knee or thigh; this way both hands are underneath the dresser.
Carrying six moving boxes at a time: It may sound like an impossible feat, but you do not have to be superman to carry more boxes at a time, only strategic. Follow these 4 easy steps to save yourself time and energy.
Note: Use average sized or petite moving boxes.
- Stack 3 moving boxing one on top of the other.
- Stack a second column of 3 moving boxes directly next to the first one.
- Tie the columns together using a rope.
- Make a tight knot at the edges of the rope for a secure hold.
- With your back facing the boxes, slip your hand between the rope & leverage the boxes onto your back.
