Roberto and Danny did an outstanding job packing my art work, loading and unloading, taking beds and a gym weight rack apart and putting them back together 150 miles later. Handled all of my furniture and belongings with care. Everything from first call through the delivery was first rate. Excellent company!!!

We used AVL after researching multiple interstate moving companies. We spoke directly with AVL management to let them know of the special timeline we were on for our move, once management understood our compressed timeline, they were able to fully accommodate us and execute the move flawlessly. I would like to point out that they maintained excellent communications from all of their team members to us during all aspects of the move. Our truck arrived on time, there were no issues with loading, the truck arrived on time at the destination( no damage or breakage). I would like to especially commend Jairo(our driver/lead man for both ends of the trip) on his outstanding organization and task delegating skill set. The moves on both ends were on time and seamless. All members of AVL deserve high praise for their understanding of the issues and for getting the right van and people to execute this move to perfection. Thanks again: Jay, Shabrina, Jairo and Dan. Thank you, Pete Zec

Average Cost To Move From Florida to Colorado

There's no one-size-fits-all price for a move. Your total will depend on your home size, where you're starting and ending within Florida and Colorado, and add-ons like packing help or storage. On average, a move on this route can cost anywhere from $2,620–$9,849, and can take 5 - 16 days from pickup to delivery.

Here's a quick look at estimated costs based on home size:

Home Size Estimated Cost
1 Bedroom $2,620 - $4,985
2 Bedrooms $3,103 - $5,513
3 Bedrooms $4,213 - $6,976

Factors that Affect the Cost of Moving from Florida to Colorado

Moving costs can vary quite a bit, and a few key details can push your total higher or lower. Here are the most common factors that influence what you'll pay for your move.

  • Timing of your move: Rates are often higher during peak moving season, especially in the summer. You may also pay more for weekend moves and for dates at the beginning or end of the month.
  • Professional vs. DIY: Deciding between a DIY move and a full-service mover like American Van Lines can impact your budget and your stress level. DIY may be cheaper at first, but you handle the packing, lifting, and logistics. Meanwhile, AVL manages the heavy work and helps keep the move smoother and safer.
  • Exact distance: Longer moves usually mean higher quotes, and even small differences in mileage between your current home and your new one can affect the final price.
  • Size of move: Bigger moves typically cost more because they take more time, labor, and truck space, especially when you're moving multiple rooms of belongings.

Tips for Moving From Florida to Colorado

  • Research your new community early. Before moving day, take time to explore neighborhoods, schools, and local services in Colorado. Knowing where the grocery store, DMV, or nearest coffee shop is will help you settle in faster.
  • Create a moving week checklist. Draft a week-of checklist with reminders like emptying the fridge, updating your address, and prepping essentials for your first night.
  • Set aside a "first night" box. Pack a clearly labeled box or bin with everything you'll need right away — think toiletries, chargers, a change of clothes, snacks, pet supplies, and basic kitchenware.
  • Take photos before disassembling furniture or electronics. Snap a few quick photos before unplugging wires or breaking down big items. It'll make reassembling your setup in Colorado way easier.
  • Don't forget to transfer medical records and prescriptions. If you're switching doctors or pharmacies, request records in advance so you're not scrambling to find care in a new place.
