Super fast! We moved our 1 bedroom apartment from Dallas to North Carolina. They picked up on Friday and delivered on Monday. Just 2 days in between. The drivers took good care of our things while moving and nothing was damaged. They labeled every item and every box before loading it on the truck. About the price, I am impressed there as well as our weight reduced than the estimate, they lowered the price too. I was quoted 1995 initially and ended up paying 1650 (weight 1100 pounds app.) I am done opening all of the fragile items and nothing is damaged. I wish I remember the drivers name to mention here. They unloaded and setup all our furniture very carefully and even helped to hang our wall decor and pictures.

We couldn't be more pleased with the crew that moved us from Alabama to Tennessee. All the staff we spoke with on the phone were helpful and friendly as well. We decided to use American Van Lines after seeing their good reviews. As stated in other reviews the price was as quoted, and our belongings were well protected and delivered with no mishaps or breaks. An agent checked in with us several times during the move to see how things were going as well. We would definitely recommend them to anyone looking to move.

Factors that Affect the Cost of Moving from Georgia to Washington

Moving costs can shift based on several details, so your total price will depend on your specific situation. Here are the main factors that typically affect moving quotes.

  • Timing of your move: You will often pay more during peak moving season, especially in the summer months. Weekend moves and dates at the beginning or end of the month can also come with higher rates.
  • Professional vs. DIY: DIY can save money upfront, but it puts the packing, lifting, and coordination on your shoulders. Hiring American Van Lines gives you more support and fewer headaches, since we handle the heavy lifting and logistics from start to finish.
  • Exact distance: Distance is a major cost driver for long-distance moves. Even small differences in mileage can impact the quote you receive.
  • Size of move: Moving more belongings usually costs more because it requires additional labor, time, and truck space to transport everything safely.
Getting a moving quote is simple. It's fast & easy - no obligations!

  • Research your new community early. Before moving day, take time to explore neighborhoods, schools, and local services in Washington. Knowing where the grocery store, DMV, or nearest coffee shop is will help you settle in faster.
  • Create a moving week checklist. Draft a week-of checklist with reminders like emptying the fridge, updating your address, and prepping essentials for your first night.

  • Take photos before disassembling furniture or electronics. Snap a few quick photos before unplugging wires or breaking down big items. It'll make reassembling your setup in Washington way easier.
  • Don't forget to transfer medical records and prescriptions. If you're switching doctors or pharmacies, request records in advance so you're not scrambling to find care in a new place.
