The move by Benjamin and Brendan went smoothly and quickly - both really great guys. The customer service with Elena was professional and courteous. The only hitch was around the binding estimate but that was largely due to me. My inventory list was not completely accurate which led to a rework of the pricing. I did not understand well enough the importance of the inventory and the impact on price. I would recommend to American Van Lines that they take greater lengths to explain this to customers.

We have just booked our move out of state with American Van Lines. We had previously booked with a different carrier and decided to go with American Van Lines, instead. Although we haven't actually moved yet, we feel confident about what to expect due to the exceptional customer service we received from Richard Peveler. He was so thorough and even beat the price of the other carrier! We will return with a follow up review after our move is complete but for now, we have peace of mind. Thank you, Richard!

Average Cost To Move From Illinois to Oregon

Moving costs can vary based on how much you're moving, where within Illinois and Oregon you're moving between, and any extra services you might need (like packing or storage). On average, a move from Illinois to Oregon might range anywhere from $2,920–$11,327, and take 5 - 16 days from pickup to delivery.

Here's a quick look at estimated costs based on home size:

Home Size Estimated Cost
1 Bedroom $2,920 - $5,563
2 Bedrooms $3,267 - $6,106
3 Bedrooms $4,350 - $7,599

All estimates are based on typical moving services and distance between major cities like Aurora, IL, and Eugene, OR.

Factors that Affect the Cost of Moving from Illinois to Oregon

Moving costs aren't one-size-fits-all, and a few key details can make your total price go up or down. Here are the most common factors that affect how much your move will cost.

  • Timing of your move: Prices tend to spike during peak moving season (especially summer), and moves booked on weekends or at the beginning or end of the month often cost more.
  • Professional vs. DIY: Choosing between a DIY move and hiring a full-service mover such as American Van Lines can make a big difference in your overall cost and experience. DIY can cost less upfront, but you'll be on the hook for the packing, heavy lifting, and logistics, while AVL takes care of the hard work for you, making the move smoother, safer, and far less stressful.
  • Exact distance: Longer moves generally come with higher quotes, and even small changes in mileage between your current home and your new one can affect the total cost.
  • Size of move: The more rooms (and stuff) you're moving, the more labor, time, and truck space you'll need, which usually means a higher overall price.
Getting a moving quote is simple. It's fast & easy - no obligations!
