Here’s my short review. I had a truck load of things picked up at my home in Long Beach, NY and dropped off in Clayton, NC. Driver Dennis and his helper Russell must be commended. They were the greatest movers I’ve ever met. They took such good care of all of my stuff, put it back together and all my glass tables and 52” JVC TV was just as they took it, not a scratch, mark or dent on anything. These two men just couldn’t be better. They really worked hard for their money and treated us as a family. I recommend American Van Lines and these two men to everyone, and will use them again if needed. Thanks for the best service.

Factors that Affect the Cost of Moving from New Mexico to Indiana

Moving costs can vary quite a bit, and a few key details can push your total higher or lower. Here are the most common factors that influence what you'll pay for your move.

  • Timing of your move: Rates are often higher during peak moving season, especially in the summer. You may also pay more for weekend moves and for dates at the beginning or end of the month.
  • Professional vs. DIY: Deciding between a DIY move and a full-service mover like American Van Lines can impact your budget and your stress level. DIY may be cheaper at first, but you handle the packing, lifting, and logistics. Meanwhile, AVL manages the heavy work and helps keep the move smoother and safer.
  • Exact distance: Longer moves usually mean higher quotes, and even small differences in mileage between your current home and your new one can affect the final price.
  • Size of move: Bigger moves typically cost more because they take more time, labor, and truck space, especially when you're moving multiple rooms of belongings.
