The recent move I have experienced has been very smooth and without any problems. The movers had all the necessary things with themselves and were working carefully with each of the items we had. Great experience with Andres Ricky and Charlie my move from North Carolina to Colorado. I’m super happy with everything. The price was good. The delivery took place on time. Overall experience is wonderful. This morning, I had a spectacular team a 2 man team Ramon & Pedro who absolutely were the 2 best movers I’ve ever seen!!! They moved with more assertiveness than any 2 man team I’ve ever seen & they made the work look like it was nothing. I would request & demand these 2 if I ever move, nobody to do the job anywhere better!!! I did my research online and I compared companies. I decided to go with American Van Lines. There was continual follow-up when I would call them, ask questions, and ask for the quote. As we moved forward throughout the process, it was just continued follow-up on their part. It was very reassuring. The estimate was spot-on. Also every time I needed to add anything, I’d call them and talk to them about it, and they would tell me exactly what it was. There were no surprises. The movers were very respectful of our things and of us and our time. We did a cross-country move. I have never left a negative review before, but after giving American Van Lines every opportunity to address our concerns, I feel obligated to share our experience. While the crews who loaded and unloaded our belongings were professional, courteous, and hardworking, my issues are entirely with American Van Lines as a company. Their customer service was, without question, the worst I've ever experienced. Moving across the country is stressful enough without the company you're paying nearly **$11,000** to making the process significantly harder. Before we paid our deposit, our move coordinator was extremely responsive. Once the deposit was paid, that communication completely disappeared. I called and emailed my move coordinator numerous times and never received a single response. I was also instructed to contact another representative to update our inventory before the move. Again, multiple emails and voicemails went unanswered. Because no one would return our calls or process our inventory changes, everything had to be handled on moving day. The moving crew then had to sit outside our home for nearly **three hours** waiting for approval from American Van Lines before they could begin loading. I eventually had to call customer service myself and complain before anyone addressed the issue. That delay was unfair to both our family and the movers. Communication throughout the entire process was chaotic. Calls to customer service were frequently disconnected, some phone numbers we were given didn't even work, and we repeatedly received conflicting information about our move dates. At one point I was told our pickup would be a full week earlier than expected. Later I was told movers would arrive on Monday, so I rearranged my work schedule and missed an important meeting to be home. No one showed up. Then I was told it would be another day. Ultimately, the company that picked up our belongings arrived on a completely different day that had never been communicated to us. We spent weeks trying to figure out what was actually happening because no one at American Van Lines seemed able to provide accurate information. Another major disappointment was learning that our move was actually handled by **FABRI Distribution**, despite being told during the sales process that American Van Lines was **not** a broker and that American Van Lines would be handling our move. That left us feeling misled. After the move, we submitted concerns and were told an investigation would be conducted. We cooperated fully and waited for the results. We have never received the outcome of that investigation, a follow-up phone call, or even the courtesy of an email.** It honestly feels like the company simply stopped communicating and hoped enough time would pass that we'd give up and not leave a review. The only reason this isn't a one-sentence review is because I want to give credit where it's due. The loading and delivery crews were outstanding. They treated our belongings with care, worked incredibly hard, and were the one bright spot in an otherwise frustrating experience. Unfortunately, great movers can't make up for poor communication, broken promises, scheduling issues, and a complete lack of accountability from the company managing the move. I cannot recommend American Van Lines based on our experience. The reviews for American Van Lines were good, and when I first communicated with them, they sounded very personable. The rep was very proactive and listened to my needs. He worked very diligently, trying to move the schedule around when there wasn't enough space on the truck and they were going to have to get a second truck. I was trying to get everything coordinated in a very fast method because we had to get out of the house for the closing, and I ended up going with another company that I wasn't as impressed with. I had to make a move. But it wasn't against American Van Lines. He even called me back to let me know he was able to get a truck, and he deserves good kudos because he really tried. I was very impressed because the wrapping was unbelievable. After going through everything, I have not found a single item broken. The price was very fair for the distance of the move and the work they did. They came in, took over, and did everything we asked them to do. It was a four-and-a-half-hour drive easily. They had to move our furniture from the house and then put it into storage. But they were on time. They were there when they told us they'd be there and always stayed in touch with me. They let me know exactly where they were, what they were doing and called in advance. So, I'm tickled about that. I just got transferred to a different branch of the company that I work for and was moving from Des Moines to Virginia. I was trying to find a reputable moving company, and I went through a few that weren't so great. My dad let me know that he used American Van Lines when we moved, 10 years ago now, and he really liked them. They have a lot better reviews online, too. I called them up and the rep was great. I would miss her calls a lot, but she would follow up with emails, which I really appreciated. She would always answer my questions on the same day. I was only moving a studio, and I wasn't taking all of my stuff with me. Two guys showed up, went through their checklist of what I was bringing and what they were leaving behind. It took an hour and a half, and they packaged everything up in front of me and took it right out to the truck. They were great. They explained everything to me and had all their equipment to package my TV to make sure it wouldn't get cracked. They did the same thing with some of my other more fragile stuff. I didn't have anything that I was wanting for that they didn't do. It wasn't the same guys who dropped it off but it was the same environment - they were very friendly. I had a small hallway, and I was pretty sure my couch was going to get stuck. However, the team did not rush into anything. Instead, they carefully moved it and got it through. Ronald and his team did an amazing job on job number 332089. They were professional, efficient, and very careful with all of our belongings. The move was smooth, organized, and far less stressful thanks to their hard work and attention to detail. He was great to work with, and his team was punctual, respectful, and reliable throughout the entire process. I had to vacate my place in haste because of a lease problem. Everything was in disarray, and I felt like everything was happening too fast. However, American Van Lines helped me bring some order into the chaos. They were well-organized and focused, and I felt like they had experience in handling situations like this. However, when I finally booked American Van Lines, I was still expecting it to be a long and exhausting day. However, they came prepared and ready to go, which improved my mood right away. Job #475370 - Driver was Said Could not have asked for a better moving experience. If I were running the company, not only would i give every job i could to Said and Eva, but i would also ask them to train everyone they could how to be the best at their craft. The care for us as customers was apparent from the start, and the Will-Do demonstrated to get us packed, loaded and unpacked as fast as possible (given our circumstances) was impressive. On top of that the friendliness, even after a long day of work, was a treat. We wish we could rate Said’s service even higher than 5 stars. They separately packed all the equipment, and there was no shift during transport. When I opened the boxes, I was glad that all the equipment was in its place. The thing that worried me the most was my large glass coffee table since it is the focal point of my living room. The team did not dismiss my concern for even a second.
