Relocation within the Army requires an application for Do it Yourself Move (DD Form 2278) signed by you and an official from the Personal Property Office. You must submit a Travel Voucher or Subvoucher (DD Form 1351-2) after your move. Include your completed PPM Checklist and Expense Certification, the one you get from DPS. Send your claims documents to the Army Community Service (ACS) Relocation Readiness Program within 45 days of your move to get reimbursed. You can contact the Soldier and Family Assistance Program (SFA) at your battalion for help.

The Navy will reimburse you for your move if you show them two weight tickets, one from before your goods were added to the truck and one from after. The difference between the two weight tickets represents the actual weight of the goods moved. To become approved for a PPM move, you must submit to your local transportation office:
- An application for Do it Yourself Move signed by you and an official from the Personal Property Office. (DD Form 2278)
- A signed Travel Voucher or Subvoucher. (DD Form 1351-2)
- A signed Travel EFT Form. (NPPSC 7000/1 (02-2017)
